Satan tempted Christ in the wilderness, testing His goodness and faithfulness.
He waited until Christ was at a low point (exhausted physically, mentally, and spiritually) to see if he could get Him to take the bait and get Him off of His path and purpose. Christ was rich enough to pass the test without compromising His values.
Matthew 12:1-8 is an example of Christ falling exactly when and where He should have.
Human limitations are encountered.
Human limitations are encountered.
One might think "Screw it, I'm so tired. I know I'm shooting myself in the goddamn foot. I don't know what to do besides light up these bogues, actually. I'm left to my own devices, and this is what I get. I'm just looking for somewhere safe to set this thing down."
When you are at the point of exhaustion, you are more liable to do things that you would not normally do when you are not exhausted.
